DAY 01: ARRIVAL Ho Chi Minh City

Arrive at Ho Chi Minh City on flight.  Your guide and private car will meet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

Day 02: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta

At 0730 depart for the 3-hour drive to Cai Be, deep in the Mekong Delta. The tour begins with a visit of the colourful Cai Be floating market, followed by a visit to some locale home factories that produce rice paste, rice popcorn and coconut candy.

Proceed to evergreen islands among the Mekong River through a large network of meandering tributaries, crisscrossed with countless arroyos. Lunch is eaten before the cruise to Vinh Long to discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical Mekong Delta rural life. Following head back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 03: Ho Chi Minh City - Danang - Hue

After breakfast transfer to the airport for the short flight to Danang.Arrive Danang, you will be transferred to Hoi An for a walking tour.

Despite the passing of 200 years and the ravages of weather and war, the centre of Hoi An remains much the same as it was in its heyday. This walking tour is the best way to see the wooden-fronted houses that once belonged to the town’s prosperous merchants, the Japanese-covered Bridge and the wonderful market as well as the many silk, handicrafts, antique shops and galleries. Have lunch in a local restaurant.

After that, you will be transferred to Hue. Continue to visit The Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945.

Day 04: Hue - Hanoi

0800 depart from your hotel in Hue. Start by taking a leisurely boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, constructed in 1601, the 21-meter tall tower is the centerpiece of the pagoda.

Continue to the mausoleum of the former emperor Khai Dinh. After exploring the ruins of this wonderful monument depart for lunch to try some renowned Hue cuisine. 

Following depart to the Mausoleum of Tu Duc, built decades before its occupant's death the tomb was used as a palace retreat before the emperors resting place. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Arrive Hanoi and you will be picked up at the airport. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 05: Hanoi - Halong Bay

Depart for the 3.5-hour drive to Halong Bay. Journey there through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta, observe everyday life of Vietnamese villagers as they work the rice fields, take pigs to the market on motorbikes and plough the fields with their water buffaloes.

Arrive from Hanoi late morning and welcome at the pier of your boat. Check-in procedures and transfer to your boat for the overnight journey into the Bay. Lunch is served on board as you cruise into Halong Bay. Cruise by rock formations with such names as Sail, Dog and Dinh Huong (incense pot). Towards the end of the day set anchor for the night as the sun sets followed by dinner. Overnight on board.

Day 06: Halong Bay - Hanoi

On your return to Halong City enjoy a full breakfast (or brunch) as your boat weaves its way back to the dock. Upon disembarkation your driver will meet you for the transfer back to Hanoi. 

Your next stop will be the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. Constructed in 1070, the gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past.

Take a walking tour through Hanoi’s Old Quarter, also known as the ‘36 streets’. This bustling area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It's a great place to explore, with plenty of photo opportunities all around you.

Day 07: Hanoi - Departure

Your guide and private car will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
