Bangkok Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai


Arrive in Bangkok by, meet and welcome with our English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel.

Suvarnabhoumi Airport is a single terminal airport with THREE entrances from the secure area into the public arrivals hall. Domestic arrivals will enter through Gate A. International arrivals will enter through Gate B or C. The representative/guide will know in advance which entrance the clients will arrive through and will be waiting in the appropriate area. In case you do not see our guide kindly proceed to the ATTA desk located at exit door number 10 (for international arrivals) or located at exit door number 1 (for domestic arrivals).

A relaxing evening beckons with a drive through Bangkok’s old quarters that delivers sights of an illuminated Grand Palace, the Royal Ground, temples and the lit-up Rajdamnoen Avenue. A lavish Thai dinner and cocktails against the stunning backdrop of the Rattanakosin skyline at “The Deck” riverside restaurant will keep your night pleasurable. Then stroll along the Flower Market to see the myriad varieties of exotic orchids and sweet smelling flowers. The buzz in this market is best experienced at night during which busy vendors load their wares up and down their mopeds. A potential shopping opportunity awaits you at an adjacent local night market along the Memorial Bridge that overlooks the Chao Phraya River, where you can rummage for handicrafts or souvenirs to bring back home for your family and friends.

An early start will get you to Wat Po in time to experience the monks early morning chanting ritual (chanting starts at 09.00 Hrs). After this uplifting and often private experience visit the temple grounds and the famous 45-metre reclining Buddha.

Continue to The Grand Palace, Thailand’s most important landmark, where you will be awed by the grandeur and majesty of the building and its throne halls. Then, of course, marvel at the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand.

Lunch is served at local restaurant.

Start with a stroll through Chinatown where you visit interesting shops, tea shop, markets and temples to get a first-hand feel for old Bangkok. Continue to The Bangkok Folk Museum, a seventy-year-old Thai house converted into a small but fascinating museum. Then hop on a long tail boat for a ride along the bustling Chao Phraya River and the quiet klongs (canals) of Thonburi where you see how Thai people have lived next to the water for centuries. Last stop is the magnificent Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn.

Morning pick up from your hotel and drive north to the ancient city of Ayutthaya. Visit three of the most important of the ruined temples in Ayutthaya historical park.

Continue to Bang Pa In to see the summer palace built by King Rama IV at a time of growing European influence in Thailand. Return to Bangkok down the Chao Phraya River on the luxurious, air-conditioned cruiser the Grand Pearl.
Enjoy a superb buffet lunch while witnessing rural Thai life along both sides of the River of Kings.
Arrive in Bangkok late afternoon.

Early morning check out and depart your hotel for transfer to Bangkok Airport for your flight to Chiang Mai

Meet at Chiang Mai Airport and then drive north-west of Chiang Mai through the picturesque Mae Sa valley to the Mae Sa Elephant Camp, set in a beautiful, serene wooded area. One of the highlights of your visit is to watch the elephants taking their morning bath in the running streams before starting their days training and work. Along with their trainers the elephants will demonstrate a number of skills for you, and you may take the opportunity to feed them bananas or sugarcane, their favorite treats. Finish your elephant camp visit with a 50 minute elephant ride into the surrounding woods – a real adventure and wonderful experience. Before returning to Chiang Mai, drive to an orchid farm for a visit.

Lunch en route at local restaurant and then travel to a local farmhouse in Mae Rim on the outskirts of Chiang Mai where you will take a leisurely stroll around the grounds.

Then board a long-tail boat and enjoy a 30 minute cruise along the rural Mae Ping River.  Along the river banks you will see traditional wooden houses and modern residences.  Arrive at a boat landing and walk for about 10 minutes from the landing to Waroros fresh food Market for a visit, experiencing the Northern Thai way of life.  From the market you take a trishaw ride along Tapae Road past City Walls and along Rajdamnern Road to Wat Phra Singh. Then transfer to Chiang Mai Airport for your flight back to Bangkok. Upon arrival in Bangkok meet and transfer to your hotel in Bangkok
