DAY 01: ARRIVAL BANGKOK

Arrive in Bangkok, meet and welcome with our English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel.

Suvarnabhoumi Airport is a single terminal airport with THREE entrances from the secure area into the public arrivals hall. Domestic arrivals will enter through Gate A. International arrivals will enter through Gate B or C. The representative/guide will know in advance which entrance the clients will arrive through and will be waiting in the appropriate area. In case you do not see our guide kindly proceed to the ATTA desk located at exit door number 10 (for international arrivals) or located at exit door number 1 (for domestic arrivals).

Transfer to hotel to check in. Free at your own leisure

Day 2: BANGKOK – FLOATING MARKET – BANGKOK

Start the day with a short regional Train Ride bounding for an amazing country market that has sprouted along the railway tracks. Then we will visit Tha Kha, floating market where you can observe local trading in its authenticity.

Continue with a fascinating paddle boat journey through the maze of klongs (canals), cruising past plantations and Buddhist temples before stopping to enjoy a glass of palm sugar syrup and chat with a friendly local family. Lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to King Rama II then take a stroll through the orchards. Visit artisans who produce hand-painted Benjarong porcelain before returning to Bangkok in the late afternoon.

Day 3: BANGKOK

This busy but fascinating day starts with a long tail cruise through the Thonburi klongs. Sightseeing stops are made along the way at Wat Arun and then at the incomparable Grand Palace where you will visit the majestic throne halls and mysterious Emerald Buddha.

Lunch is served at the delightful Supatra River House overlooking the Chao Phraya River. In the afternoon visit Vimanmek Palace, the world’s largest teak building and finish the day with a stop at the Marble Temple, Wat Benjamabophit, which features a fascinating fusion of Thai and European architectural styles.

Day 4: BANGKOK – AYUTTHAYA – BANGKOK

Early morning departure from your hotel in Bangkok and drive directly to Bang Pa In, the summer palace built by Rama IV. There you will see the contrasting palace buildings and surrounding temples inspired by European, Chinese and Thai designs. 

Also visit Wat Nived, the gothic inspired temple on the banks of the Chao Praya River.  After the visit, board your traditional rice barge Benjarong, and enjoy a cruise up the Chao Phraya River into Ayutthaya.  

En route you can enjoy the views of the Japanese and Portuguese settlements, Wat Phutthaisawan, Saint Joseph’s Church, and Wat Chaiwatthanaram, while lunch is served on board.   Ayutthaya, surrounded by rivers and a canal, flourished as the capital of Siam from 1350 until it was attacked by the Burmese in 1767.  

The remains of the temples and ruins of this great city have now been declared a World Heritage Site.  Disembark at Wat Kasattrathirat Pier and visit the most important of the ruined temples in Ayutthaya historical park:  Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Vihara Phra Mongkol Bopit and Wat Chai Watanaram.  Return to Bangkok by car.

Day 5: BANGKOK - DEPARTURE

Meet and transfer to your hotel and then transfer to Bangkok Airport for your departure flight
