You will have lunch at a restaurant which gives former street children a chance to support themselves. Explore the beautiful south coast in kingdom; its national parks filled with green exotic wildlife; and its rainforests and waterfall. Witness the everyday life of countryside and villagers. Day 01: Arrival SIEM REAP

Proceed to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon your arrival Siem Reap, you will be welcomed by your local English speaking guide and transferred to your hotel for check in.

Siem Reap is the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer empire. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Today, depart on a scenic cycling tour through the most beautiful Cambodian countryside towards the mighty Tonle Sap Lake. You will pass rice fields and villages, where you will stop for refreshing breaks and a few chats with the locals.

The road is all flat and easy to cycle, and the tour is fully supported, so if you or your children don’t want to continue by bicycle, you can continue by private vehicle. Your destination is Kampong Phluck, a village where you will see houses on stilts that are submerged when Tonlé Sap Lake extends.

Embark on an interesting boat trip on the Tonlé Sap Lake, where you will have the opportunity to learn about life on the lake. You will pass floating houses and impressive flooded forests, portraying life on the water. Tonle Sap is South East Asia’s largest freshwater lake with its size varying greatly depending on the season, as it is swelling to about 4 times its size in during the wet season. Enjoy a picnic lunch in one of the stilted houses.

This morning, set out like the first explorers did on foot, trekking through the dense jungle of the magnificent temples of Angkor. Glimpses of small temples can be spotted amongst dense jungle, towers appear looming overhead, 

and the sheer number of ruins along the way is staggering. Set out to explore the ancient city of Angkor Thom as you find your way through the forest towards the the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII. Continue to Bayon Temple in the exact center of the city. This 12th century masterpiece is a study in grandeur and is well-known for its 54 towers with enigmatic faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire.

This is a unique way to explore the expansive and majestic temple complex of ancient Angkor. Seeing the towers of Bayon loom in the distance is an experience you will never forget and that this is something most visitors to Angkor don’t experience. Then continue to Angkor Wat Temple, built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat is constructed following the model of the temple mountain symbolizing Mount Meru, the home of the gods.

Inside the temple, the walls are covered with stone carvings and bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology and the wars Suryavarman II fought during his reign. Angkor Wat is well known for the more than 2,000 Apsara dancers decorating the temple. Construction is thought to have taken around thirty years of intensive labor. Today, Angkor Wat is figured on Cambodia's national flag as the temple symbolizes the soul of the Khmer people.

Take a ride in a vintage military jeep to the pink sand stone temple of Bantey Srei, the jewel the crown of Angkor. On the way stop in to simple Khmer artisans Palm Wine and cottage crafts. 

The road will take the winding back roads through local villages to Bantey Srei, one of the beautiful and best preserved pieces of Angkorian architecture. This is a unique way to experience the “real” Cambodia. Visit at school- it any impressive ideas for your children experience how different school life is over in the countryside Cambodia. If you like, you can hold a little lesson for the school children and teach an English children’s song to them. Gues how much joy this bill bring to your children as well as your whole families.

Angkor is full of magical highlights, visit another one! Explore Ta Prohm temple, that children will probably enjoy the most. The ‘Lara Croft’ movie was set and filmed here. Ta Prohm is unique in that it has been left largely as it was found: overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. This makes Ta Prohm one of the most memorable of the Angkor temples. But this temple visit will not be a usual one…thinks Tomb Raider! You will be given a map and a road book and it is your task as a family to unravel a mystery inside Ta Prohm that will lead you to the final clue...

Later on, enjoy your physical activities with the quad bike adventure an unforgettable experiences as you will ride this bike which perfectly designed for off roda terrain through the beautiful country side of Siem Reap Provinces. This guided tour will take you around to the local village, where you can learn about the way of life in the rural Cambodia this will give you more chance to meet and spend your special time having some chats with the local wonderful and friendliness peoples.

Early afternoon, transfer to Phnom Penh (6h). Once considered as one of the most beautiful cities in the Orient, and despite its recent turbulent history, it still retains a colonial charm.

Cambodia’s capital is a bustling city, majestically located at the confluence of the mighty rivers of the Mekong and Tonlé Sap. Wide tree-lined boulevards and many colonial-era buildings reflect the glorious days and add to the allure of the city, where Asian and Western traditions meet in a fascinating way. Check into your hotel in the city center.

After breakfast, you will be greeted by a driver who will take you on a tour of the historical French Quarter in a Cyclo, an original Phnom Penh means of transportation and a fun way to explore this lively city. 

The Cyclo will take you up the popular Riverfront along Tonlé Sap River. Stop at the ice-cream parlor or a cookie shop on the way to treat both the kids and the parents. Continue through the French Quarter, full of beautiful examples of French-colonial buildings, and head to Wat Phnom, the birthplace of Phnom Penh on the only hill in the city. See the entire fun fair of street vendors, playing kids and monkeys surrounding this place.

Phnom Penh’s only Elephant, a 52-year old lady called ‘Sambo’ will be excited to greet you, particularly if you bring bananas. Return to the hotel for a break and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. This afternoon, visit Stung Meanchey, it is not far to Stung Meanchey, a local neighborhood that is home to the humanitarian organization Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (for the smile of a child) that provides education and job training to street children that used to be scavenging the municipal dump, and give them skills and hope for a brighter future. Visit the center, and discover this place that is full of so many smiles

Depart from Phnom Penh with your guide for the drive towards the Cardamom Mountains (4 hours). Here begins the next chapter in our adventure, where a boat man will be waiting to take you 30 km up river

through the meandering mangroves to the remote village of Chi Phat (duration 1h). Chi Phat has got one of the last remaining tracts of natural rain forest that remains to date in Indochina. The area is prized for its bio-diversity and abundance of wildlife. This unique place is not often visited by tourists but still relies on the income provided by tourism to directly fund the community development project in the area.

After checking into your local home stay and being introduced to your host family, sit back and enjoy a local lunch in the Community Based-Ecotourism (CBET) Office. The remainder of the day is packed full of adventure as you set off trekking to explore the wilds of Chi Phat. We will explore where nomadic indigenous tribes once roamed the jungle and stumble upon one of their sacred burial sites wedged in the cliff face. Retire to the rural comfort of your homestay to freshen up before a sumptous dinner provided by the local community at the CBET office.

Day 08: CHI PHAT

Head on the so-called ‘The Loom Stream Trail’ today, a 26km mountain biking tour that takes you to O’Key village. The people of O’Key live in a small and remote village located in an abundant valley 13 kilometers north of Chi Phat commune.

People in this area use the fertile highland red soil to work their “chamkas” (remote agriculture settlements) where they grow rice, bananas, and other seasonal crops. From here, head to the scenic O’Malu waterfall where you will have lunch, relax, and swim if you wish, before returning to Chi Phat. You can also ask your guide to take you to visit the Reforestation Project on the way if time permits. Dinner at the CBET office.

Enjoy the beauty of the jungle village this morning. Wander around, make friends and relax. After lunch at a local restaurant, the boat man waits for you to re-embark for the journey back down river to Andoung Tek.

A short transfer will take you to Tatai Bridge from where a short scenic boat ride takes you to Sihanoukville by the coast. Check into your resort right on a private beach and enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
