Enjoy an orientation tour of the major highlights of Luang Probang in cozy historical atmosphere, laid-back pace of life – these are some of the undeniable trademarks to understand why it becomes the World Heritage site over years.  Laung Prabang boasts both traditional Laos and colonial architecture with charming results that make exploring the city an absolute ecstasy of delight.

Glittering the Palace Museum of Luang Prabang to see an eclectic collection of Asian artifacts. Climb the 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside. Take a boat cruise upstream the Mekong River to the holy and mysterious Pak Ou Caves which filled with thousands of gilded statues of Buddha.

Visit Kuang Si waterfall, where you’ll swim in and explore the numerous refreshing and beautiful pools. Gain insight Vientiane, one of the least discovered capitals in Asia to explores the different highlights of the city, including gilded temples and important monuments.

DAY 01: Vientiane Arrival

Day 02: Vientiane

After breakfast your guide will pick you up at your hotel take you on an enjoyable tour to discover the hidden charms of Vientiane.The tour begins at the serene Wat Sisaket, the only temple left intact after the Siamese (Thai) invasion in 1828.

It is one of the most beautiful temples in the capital, and its breezy teak covered hallways are filled with thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Continue on to the nearby Wat Phra Keo. Used as a religious museum, Wat Phra Keo displays a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art. Also nearby, is the Presidential Palace. Although you are not allowed to visit inside, it is a good glimpse in to the town’s colonial past as this building formerly served as the French governor’s palace.

Stop at Wat Simuang, the most popular and venerated temple in Vientiane, as it is considered the guardian of the spirit of the city. Upon its grounds, you will find an Angkorian-era pillar and it is a popular belief that if you circle it three times and make a wish, then that wish will come true. Next, your tour takes you to That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. Constructed by King Setthethirat in the 16th century, the temple is resplendent as the sun shines upon its towering golden spire. Your tour ends at Patuxay monument, Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe, where you can climb the stairs to the roof for sweeping panoramic views of the city.

Day 03: Vientiane - Buddha Park

After your breakfast this morning you will drive 45 minutes to Buddha Park. On the way you can make a stop and take photos of the Friendship bridge.

Arrive at Buddha Park, located in a meadow by the Mekong riverside (24 Km south of Vientiane), and observe the collectionof Buddhist and Hindu sculptures. Enjoy a stroll in the park, take some pictures of the many different kinds of Buddha, etc.

Then drive back to Vientiane and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon free at your hotel

Day 04: Vientiane - Luang Prabang

After breakfast, you will pick up at your hotel and transfer to airport for your flight to Laung Prabang. Upon arrival in to Luang Prabang, your guide will transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

Day 05: Luang Prabang

After breakfast visit Wat Visoun, the holiest temple of the city, entirely rebuilt after being destroyed in 1887 by the invading Black Flags from Southern China.

In the courtyard of Wat Visoun stands the Watermelon Stupa shaped like the fruit it takes its name from. You will continue to Wat Aham and then go to Wat That where the ashes of King Sisavang Vong are kept inside the large central stupa.

As the day comes to an end learn more about Laos culture and locally made products at the Stay Another Day exhibit. You will also enjoy a Lao tea tasting ceremony. Then, climb the stairs of Mount Phousi and watch the sun set over the city and surrounding hills. Transfer back your hotel, stopping along the way at the hilltribe evening market for some shopping.

Day 06: Pak Ou Caves & Luang Prabang

After breakfast, start with a morning visit to the most photographed temple, Wat Xieng Thong. Located at the end of the peninsula, close to the Mekong, this temple was built in 1560 by King Setthathirat. The library was added in 1828.

Located 2 hours upstream of Luang Prabang, Pak Ou Caves count thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues crammed into the two caves carved out of a towering limestone cliff. They range in size from a few centimetres to the size of a human. The caves are as well a destination for local pilgrimages.

On the way to the caves and on the way back, do not miss that Laos has several waterways that has been used in the past and continue to be a way for transportation actually in some area. To use a local boat to cruise a river is probably one of the most rewarding mean to discover the life along the rivers, to observe the daily activities of fishermen and how they live with the river, how they throw their nets in an elegant arm gesture. Return to Luang Prabang. If time permits, stop on the way back at Ban Xang Hay, a village specialized into making rice alcohol.

The city tour begins in the afternoon with your guide who will enable you to learn more about the enchanting World Heritage Town of Luang Prabang. The tour starts at the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum (closed on Tuesday). Your walk continues to Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief. During Pimai, the Lao New Year, the Prabang normally housed in the Royal Palace Museum is brought and put on public display in this temple. Continue walking to Wat Sensoukarahm, build in 1718 with its beautiful dazzling golden façade.

Day 07: Luang Prabang & Kuangsi

Optional: For early risers, there is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting the alms.  As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents.  It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Laos people.   Return to the hotel for breakfast.

In the this morning , visit the refreshing waters of the Kuang Si Waterfalls, located at 32 km from Luang Prabang. These waterfalls cascade down a multilevel limestone formation creating a series of turquoise blue pools perfect for swimming in on a hot day.

The jungle and dense woods surrounding the falls are filled with wildlife and pleasant walks can be taken along the natural footpaths.  (Note: when bathing, please wear a sarong, no bare bodies). Kuang Si waterfalls also hosts a rescue center for sun bears which aims to raise awareness for the protection of this endangered species.

To day you will enjoy  picnic Lunch in front of the fall.
On the return to Luang Prabang, stop to visit two ethnic villages where you can observe the unique traditional lifestyle of the people. If time permits, you will also visit Ock Pop Tock, a shop which works closely with local weavers to preserve traditional techniques and styles of Lao weaving.
