Day 02: Angkor Thom, Small Circuit, Sunset a

This morning at 08:00 AM, visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom in an ecofriendly electric vehicle. Angkor Thom was the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII.

This city is surrounded by an 8 m high wall, drawing a perfect square. Enter the city through the ancient South Gate, an impressive stone gate carved with Elephants and four giant faces. On each side of the entrance path a row of 54 gods or demons is holding the sacred Naga snake. From here, continue by Elephant to Bayon Temple in the exact center of the city.

This 12th century masterpiece is a study in grandeur and is well-known for its 54 towers with enigmatic faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire. The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are also must-visits as they are both known for their intricate bas-reliefs. This afternoon at 02:00 PM, explore the highlights of the Small Circuit.

Start your tour with a visit to Ta Prohm temple, built in the mid 12th to early 13th centuries. Ta Prohm is unique in that it has been left largely as it was found: overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. This makes Ta Prohm one of the most picturesque and memorable of the Angkor temples.

Your visit will also include Banteay Kdei, a Buddhist monastery from the late 12th Century, and Srah Srang, also known as the “pool of ablutions”. Enjoy the most wonderful sunset view at Bakheng Mountain. Return to your hotel. Today, enjoy your delighted set Menu at restaurant.

Day 03: Angkor Wat-Quad Bike tour, Rolous Gro

Tour start: 08:00 AM pick up your bike and we cycle on a very special sightseeing tour of the famous Angkor Wat. Built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat is constructed

following the model of the temple mountain symbolizing Mount Meru, the home of the gods. Inside the temple, the walls are covered with stone carvings and bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology and the wars Suryavarman II fought during his reign. Angkor Wat is well known for the more than 2,000 Apsara dancers decorating the temple. Construction is thought to have taken around thirty years of intensive labor.

Today, Angkor Wat is figured on Cambodia's national flag as the temple symbolizes the soul of the Khmer people. Enjoy the spectacular view from above as you depart on a tethered Helium Balloon ride that will lead you 200 meters straight up in the air. From this height you will have amazing aerial views of Angkor Wat, Phnom Bakheng, West Baray and other ruins amongst the surrounding jungle and rice paddies glimmering in the best evening light.

This afternoon enjoy an unforgettable experience as you will ride a quad bike especially designed for off road terrain through the beautiful countryside of Siem Reap Province. The 12 km guided tour will take you to local villages, where you can learn about the way of life in rural Cambodia and have the chance to meet and chat with the wonderful and friendly people.

The highlight of the 2 hour tour is the sunset in the rice fields. Continue with your quoad bike to the early-Angkor era temples of the Roluos Group, about 15km outside of Siem Reap. Roluos is the site of the first town built by the Angkorian kings in the 8th and 9th century and consists of three main temples: Bakong, Lolei.

Explore the beautiful surrounding countryside on a ride in a traditional cow cart, a fun way to see the paddy fields and sugar palm trees that are very typical for Cambodia. Enjoy the beautiful cow card ride along the village and the paddy rice field. At 07:00 PM enjoy your most wonderful dinner with Khmer traditional dance show at restaurant.

Day 04: Beng Mealea, Banteay Srei Temple

At 07:00 AM today, this morning we’re off to Beng Mealea. Due to its location outside the main temple area, Beng Mealea is rarely visited by tourists; however, it is one of the most spectacular of all Angkor temples.

Its towers and walls are completely collapsed and the temple is dominated by jungle with trees and vines covering the buildings and emerging from doorways. As you explore Beng Mealea, you get a sense of what early explorers to Angkor encountered, not to mention the awe inspiring realization that Mother Nature does, in fact, “win” when all is said and done.

Enjoy your pack lunch under the beautiful tree shade along the way back. Continue to the “gem” of the Angkor area, the pretty temple of Banteay Srey, which is the best viewed in the warm morning light. The so-called “Citadel of the Women” remains the best preserved temple in Cambodia. It displays some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art as this small temple is noted for its truly remarkable fine bas-reliefs.

Banteay Srey is unique in that it is constructed of pink sandstone, which is seen nowhere else in Angkor. On the way back, you will have the possibility to stop at local communities along the way and your guide will help you to interact with the local community to learn about the way of life here. Visit local school then continue to visit Preah Khan & Neak Pean.

Return to hotel to rest.
